Hi all,
I currently have a VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1 card.
This card does not allow me to configure more than 2 channel-groups on my E1 port.
I need to use a channelized E1 with 10 or so different channel-groups (10 different conections for branch offices).
From what Ive read the card i need is the HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI.
But i need to be sure (before buying this expensive card) that this will allow me to configure all the 10 channel-groups in 1 E1 port.
I am also not sure if there is another limiting factor that could truncate the creation of so many channel-groups, my router is a 2921 and im sure i read somewhere that the 2921 has a limitation on channel-groups.
If anyone could please advice on minimum router and card requirements to get this to work i would be very grateful.
Thanks.

Hello,
the HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI definitely supports your 10 channel groups:
Here is the number of DS-0 channels supported by Cisco Channelized T1/E1 and ISDN PRI HWICs and Network Modules. Each port can support up to 24 channels for T1 and 31 channels for E1.
Type of Module
Cisco 1841 thru 3945E
HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI
Up to 32 channels on each card
HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI
Up to 64 channels on each card
NM-8CE1T1-PRI
Up to 128 channels on each card (1841 thru 3845, up to 256 channels on the 3945E, 3925E, 3945, 3925)

So my Cisco 2921 will not cause any problems with the right card?

Hello,
your 2921 supports 4 of those cards (HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI). You will be fine.
Here is the link to the official Cisco doc (scroll down to Table 3 and 4):

Thank you very much for your help, much appreciated.
I will go ahead and order the HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI card and report back if there are any issues.
Thanks again.
