E1 PRI and codecs

Hi Guys

here is my diagram

PBX--E1---Router1---E1---Router2--E1-PBX

I set codec G729 for pbx calls to user more bandwidth.

so should I do any configuration for passing this coded between R1 and R2?

or the router r1 acts with them as data?

Hi,

You can set G729 as the preference on the dialpeer. For example.

dial-peer voice 11 voip

description #To R1#

destination-pattern 1....

session target ipv4:1.2.8.8

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
