EHWIC-4ESG interfaces not showing on a Cisco 1921 version 15.7(3)M6

Hello, I'm having an issue with the EHWIC-4ESG not showing in the interfaces list.

But in the interfaces it's not showing:

I will like to mention that I tried it in both EHWIC slots of the router without any success.

Hello,

 

I think you might need a T train release, such as 15.6.2T3. Can you give that a try ?

Hello, thank you for your reply. I loaded Version 15.4(2)T and no success.

While reloading the router I saw the following log message:

%ESWGE_ERR-3-PLL_LOCK_LOSS: EHWIC FPGA CORE PLL PLL Failed to LOCK  in 0/0/0 ehwic slot

I tried with the other EHWIC slot of the router and the same type of error is displayed:

%ESWGE_ERR-3-PLL_LOCK_LOSS: EHWIC FPGA CORE PLL PLL Failed to LOCK  in 0/1/0 ehwic slot

Should I consider the board as being broken?

Hello,

 

it is either the card, or the (connectors inside) the router, but since the problem occurs in both slots, it is probably the card...

 

Do you have a warranty ?

No warranty. It's a second hand card that I bought for my CCNA home lab.

I suspect the card as being bad because I tried it in 2 other routers and the same issue appears. I tried to clean the EHWIC connectors and didn't help.

I can confirm that I have this problem too on C1921 running 15.8(3).M5 with a brand-new 4ESG-P:

 

My specific card is eHWIC-4ESG-P and note that my C1941 it is ALSO Hw Revision: 1.0 ... it is starting to feel there's something more to it than a bad card; my guess.

 

The other card installed, HWIC-4ESW works fine. Same behavior if I take out the 4ESW and leave only the 4ESG installed. Same story if I swap the card among slots or if I put 4ESG on the other slot leaving the other one empty. So, no matter what I do, the 4ESG it is not showing its interfaces but always appears on show inventory.

 

Please note the log first lines:
