Solved: EIGRP default route - Page 2

Hi,

I am trying to propagate eigrp default route

Please find attached topology and R2 configuration

But, the network 200.1.1.0 is propagated as /30 network.

Shouldn't it be advertised as /24?

please Advice.

Hello,

I exprimented IP default-network in both IGRP and EIGRP. IOSs version 12.2 and 12.3 respectively.

IGRP and EIGRP behave differently.

IGRP and EIGRP both advertise default route when IP default-network is set

IGRP and EIGRP both set the default route as a last resort.

IGRP advertise the classful version of IP which is set as a Candidate subnet if Candidate subnet is classless,so Candidate subnet should be classful to avoid routing problem

EIGRP advertise the classless version of IP which is set as a Candidate subnet if Candidate subnet is classless.

Please check the picture attached for IGRP and find the picuture atached to my previoud comment for EIGRP.
