EIGRP downstream devices need to also adverise same subnets?

Hello.

The DMVPN router already advertises all necessary downstream subnets via EIGRP. This router will be peered with downstream routers.

QUESTION:

1. Do the downstream routers also need to advertise all connected subnets

(#network 172.16.1.0, #network172.16.2.0)

or can they simply run EIGRP 1 on the peer-connected interface with no configured

#network

statements, and that's it?

Thank you.

We are absorbing a new branch that has joined our company. There will be a DMVPN router that will connect the branch to the enterprise. At this branch already exists routers routing isolated branch traffic. (This question is not so complex.)

I have headache of oppenheimer movie' I see movie today in movie theater and I still think about it.

Sorry tomorrow I will share topolgy and some notes.

Thanks

after my headache is relief, still I dont get your Q
here is lab hope to explain what you want,
IOU5 is downstream router receive routes via Spoke for subnet behind Hub and behind other Spokes.
you want IOU5 to filter what it receive from Spoke?

Thank you for your effort MHM.

Don't worry about this. My question was much simpler than this. I was confirming which routing devices needed EIGRP advertising, and also what should be default route.

In your diagram, between Router 3 and 5 there is switch, and also connected to this switch is ISP router that I have no access to. (router 4 does not really exist here). I conclude that default route should go to ISP router so that www traffic will go to default router.

DownR-SpokeR-Internet-HubR
you need SpokeR advertise the default route toward DownR but without effect EIGRP of DMVPN ?
if Yes then use redistribute static then use distribute with

route-map

apply to tunnel interface

this make Spoke advertise the default route toward the DownR but not toward Hub
when traffic from DownR reach SpokeR the traffic will DIA (you need NAT) and not pass through the hub, and in same time Hub not use Spoke to access Internet
