EIGRP neighbor not stablishing with some of the devices

Hi,

We have a private multipoint WAN connection between our sites.

Some of the sites have cisco routers on the edge like 3925 and some site have 3750x switches and two sites have nexus 9300 siwtches. All these sites are connected over vlan 254 and routes are learned via EIGRP. Everything was working until we added two more Nexus switches in another datacenter. One of the has no problem forming adjacency with other EIGRP neighbors but the second one forms adjacency with only L3 switches and not the routers or the other two nexus switches in the other site.

The cluster of nexus switches are configured smilarly in both sites and only one of the carries the WAN connection and the other one is connected to the first switch using uplinks and VPC configurations.

These are the outstanding errors I receive:

These are the outstanding logs I'm seeing:

0 192.168.254.254 Vlan254 10 00:00:45 1 5000 1 0

I tried everything in the troubleshooting documents from testing the unicast pings with different packet sizes to STP settings, nothing outstanding or odd.

Any help is much appreciated.

So with the help of TAC we figured out that the problem was initially the fact that dynamic routing is not supported over VPC unless you enable these two commands under your VPC domain config:

peer gateway
layer3 peer-router

I hope this helps other people having the same issue.

Hello,

hard to say without seeing the configs, can you post those ? Make sure you have 'ip router eigrp x' configured on the Vlan interfaces...

Hello

How are you trying to establish peering - uncast or multicast?  - The router only supports either one or the other and not both meaning you cannot have unicast and multicast neighbors on same router, So if you unicast then the router can only peer on p2p basis

Are you manipulating any eigrp metric weights, using any address families?
