Electrical SFP vs Optical SFP

Hello Experts

I know about SFP but not sure difference between Electrical SFP  and Optical SFP .. 

can someone give a simple explaination which one to use when ?

Hi,

if you have optical fibre link you need an optical SFP, if you have copper lines (whatever category), you need a copper SFP. In case of optical link double check optical fiber characteristics: single or multimode, window, connector (SX, LX,..), ...
