Hello @carl_townshend
Yes, EVPN has become increasingly popular among service providers as an alternative to EoMPLS. EVPN offers more flexibility and scalability compared to EoMPLS, making it easier to support new services and meet changing customer requirements.
If two customers use the same VLAN ID on the same PE, there is a risk of traffic mixing between the two customers. To avoid this, service providers can use a technique called VLAN translation or VLAN mapping. This involves mapping the customer VLAN to a different VLAN ID before sending it across the WAN. This way, even if two customers are using the same VLAN ID, they will be mapped to different VLAN IDs on the provider network, preventing traffic mixing.
Best regards
