i have a 2620 that i want to upload a new IOS for. i configured a 192.168.1.1 ethernet port on the router, configured my laptop as 192.168.1.2 and can ping both directions. however when i copy tftp flash i get "%Error opening tftp://192.168.1.2/c2600-ipvoice-mz.123-14.T4 (No such file or di

rectory)".

i tried two different tftp server software programs and i know i have the name right and in the correct directory.

i also have the tftp sservice running. i have reloaded the router and my pc.

thanks in advance!

I suspect that you do not have quite the correct file name for the IOS image that you are trying to load. Try putting .bin at the end of the file name and see what happens.

This is a common situation based on the way that Windows shows file names but usually supresses the suffix/file type.

Jerry,

Are you using Windows machine...?

If so:

1) click on my computer

2) from the menu bar select tools

3) from the drop down menu select folder options

4) select the view tab

5) uncheck hide extentions for kmown file types

Then go into your tftp directory and look at the file name. It should include '.bin' at the end. Try your tftp again but remember to include the entire file name including '.bin'.

Hopefully that will resolve your issue.
