Hey guys,

I have a 3840 router.

It has a Ethernet Swithing module (NME-16ES-1G-P).

After the IOS on the module was upgraded, the module now just keeps on restarting.

I see the error:

error: Hardware not supported by firmware. Try loading newer software.

Now obvioulsy the version we installed is worng.

Now my question is how to reach ROM MON on the module.

A lot of info is available for the IOS on the router but don't know how I can break that restarting sequence on the module.

Any help would be hightly appreciated.

Regards

Power cycle (switch off and then on) the router and press Ctrl-Break for 5-10 seconds when router is boting in order to generate break sequence. This should take router to the ROMMON mode.

hope it helps .. rate if it does ..

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

Router doesn't keeps on rebooting. Once I access switching module by typing 'session x' i can see that the module is power cycling.

If it was the router that was rebooting, it wasn't a big problem.
