Hi.
I'm trying to create a fully meshed frame-relay wan with packet tracer using 3 routers. One of the routers (named Congo , don't ask me why) can ping between the other two but the other two cannot ping eachother. There's a connection between Congo-Madagascar and Congo-Cuba but no connection between Madagascar-Cuba.
I've attached a PT file.I would appreciate any assistance.Thanks

Hi,
Could you paste the related config from all three devices?
Is there a layer 2 to layer 3 mapping to all destinations or are you running a routing protocol over it?

Hi.There's Just the three routers. The only configuration on each one Is:
Int s0/0/0
encapsulation frame-relay
ip address . . . . subnet mask . . . .
I haven't mapped the DLCI's on each router.I've entered them In the frame relay cloud and mapped them there. All three routers have learned their local DLCI's.
I've attached the configs for each router.

Can you post "show frame-relay map" and "show frame-relay pvc"?

Madagascar is trying to map dlci 52 to Cuba and Cuba is trying to map dlci 51. On Madagascar, the dlcis that it's learning are 51 and 53. 53 is up and is mapped to Congo. On Congo, 52 is mapped to Madagascar, so I'm assuming that you have a dlci mapping of 52 ---> 53 on the frame relay switch and you have 51 --> 53 on the port that Congo is connected to. You'd need to have the same thing for Madagascar and Cuba. You should have a mapping on the Madagascar port for 52 --> 51 on Cuba port.

It appears to be how I have It setup In the frame-relay cloud but It's only working for Congo connections.

Can you run "debug frame-relay packet" on Cuba and shut down the interface and bring it back up? Post the results here and we can take a look at it. You may also try "debug frame-relay events" also.

I already tried running the debug but the only command available on PT Is debug frame-relay lmi.

Hi,
Could you copy paste the following outputs directly in here?

Sh run int (main interface)
sh run int (multipoint interface) if no multipoint than both P2P
sh frame lmi
Spokes:
Sh run int (main interface)
sh run (subinterface)
sh frame lmi

the running config s0/0/0 Is the same for all routers.Ending with 1.2 for Madag. and 1.3 for Congo.
I don't have a hub and spoke. It's fully meshed with no subinterfaces. There all on the same subnet.

I still think it has something to do with the switch and not your routers. I don't have access to Packettracer. Do you have an applet that acts as a FR switch or do you have to configure a router as a switch in order to get this to work. In other words, can you post a config of your switch?
07-06-2012 07:59 AM
There's a cloud that emulates a wan. It's a switch basically with the option of frame relay Included along with dsl or cable.
There's no cli but there are options fro assigning DLCI's to serial Interfaces and linking them between routers.
I've assigned DLCI's: 52 and 53 (serial 0 connected to router Cuba)
51 and 52 (serial 1 connected to router Congo)
51 and 53 (serial 2 connected to router Madagascar)
I then linked: DLCI 51 to DLCI 53 for Congo-Cuba
DLCI 51 to DLCI 52 for Mada-Cuba
DLCI 52 to DLCI 53 for Mada-Congo

Hi.I never thought to check It again after I closed PT.It's working for me now too.Maybe some glitch.
Thanks for taking a look
