GLBP AVF AVF Secondary AVF

Hi All,

I'm currently learning about GLBP.

I have 6 routers as part of a GLBP group. The reason that I have six (I know it's a bit too much) as I was trying to proove a theory.

So far 4 of the routers are acting as 1 AVG (R1 ) and 3 AVF (R2, R3, R4) and 2 (R5, R6) secondary AVF. However as one of the AVF fails (let's say) router R2. Router R5 or R6 is not promoted to a primary AVF, rather AVG takes accountability of one of the virtual MAC addresses.

All the router priority have been set to 100.

Can some one provide an explanation why the secondary AVF is not promoted to the primary AVF ?

I have also tried manipulating redirect and timeout timers, but with no luck. Thank you.

Can you post the interface config of two of your routers?
