Help configuring WAN connection between two Cisco 2911 routers

I have two Cisco 2911 routers on my test Network. I would like to make a Wan connection between the two routers that would closely simulate a real-world configuration. What configuration can I make to connect the two Cisco 2911's with a WAN connection? I have made a T1 cross over cable.

Thank you.

Hello,

I assume your routers have WIC-1DSU/WIC-1DSU-V2 cards installed?

Have a look at the link below:

Hello,

Thank you for the information. I found this post on the Cisco other routing forum:

https://community.cisco.com/t5/routing/connecting-2-routers-with-only-fastethernet/td-p/2254629

I connected the two 2911's using gi0/2 on both routers, then used the configuration in the forum post and it worked. I then made static routes for the vlans on both routers, and I got connectivity to the vlans. Only a straight through cable between the routers worked. I still have my original question. If I wanted to connect a router at a main office to another router at a branch office, ten blocks away, how would that be configured in the real world.

Thanks.

Hello,

if you have a remote branch office, in the 'real' world, you would have different options, depending on what your local ISP(s) offer: Metro Ethernet, MPLS, SD-WAN, (DM)VPN...there are numerous possibilities.

A T1 using WIC-1DSUs is such an old technique, I don't even know if it is used anymore. A T1 has a speed of 1,5MB, which obviously is very low speed.

I have a Cisco VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1 card in both 2911 routers. Can I connect the cards together with T1 crossover to simulate a WAN connection?

Thank You.

Hello,

that should work...

Is there a configuration I need to make on the VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1 cards?

Thank you.

Hello,

have a look at the link below. It is not the exact config, leave out the voice support...
