Help with Networking Newbie

Hello all, Please delete if homework help is not allowed but I am in desperate need of help and thus far my professor has not been helpful. Below are the instruction I have for a lab. Here is where I am getting stuck

1. Since this is not an ordinary Cisco Lab, the components are not spelled out. I assumed to use a Cisco 1941 Router and 2960 Ethernet Switch since that is what has been used in all our previous labs. The problem I'm running into is that the instructions say that each router is to be connected to one another but the 1941 only has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports. One the first router, I have a copper straight-through going from the router to the 2nd router and another one going to the Switch. On the 3rd router, I have the same except going from the server to the router and another going to the 2nd router. The 2nd router (If I've read the instructions correctly) is to have a 3rd PC connected to it and the other routers. How can I do this if there are only 2 ports? Any help with the topology would be greatly appreciated

2. Usually, the labs tell me the IP addresses to use, this time it doesn't and I have to come up with my own. I'm at a loss of what IP addresses to use

Again, thank you to anyone that can help. I understand parts of what I have to do (setting up the routers to use Static IP routes, encrypted passwords, etc) and some I can figure out (How to make so that if a static route goes down, the connection between server and PCs is not broken) but some of this I can't figure out. So thank you to anyone that helps me. I appreciate it

Create a simulated network environment in Packet Tracer. This environment shall meet the following requirements.

Hardware Components

(3) PCs

o(1) Server

o(3) Routers

o(1) Ethernet switch

Configuration Comments

o Each device should have a unique but intuitive name.

o (2)PCs will be directly connected to the Ethernet switch and will be in a unique IP Address space.

o Each router will have its own unique IP address space as well as the necessary interfaces, properly configured, for connection to other devices as needed.

o The Ethernet switch will be directly connected to only (1) router

o (1) PC will be directly connected to a router that is NOT directly connected to the Ethernet switch or the sever.

o The server will be connected to a router that is only connected to other routers.

o The routers will be connected directly to each other router in the network and will be configured in such a way that the loss of connectivity between any two routers will not disrupt connectivity from any pc to the server or to any other pc on the network.

o Each router or switch will have encrypted passwords and will be accessible via terminal emulation software via TCP/IP from any of the PCs or server.

Each connectivity device will carry a banner message to discourage unauthorized access

o Each device, host, interface, or other Ethernet connection will have a statically assigned IP address appropriate to its network segment.

Hello,

I assume this is a Packet Tracer project ? If so, post the zipped .pkt file here...

Here is the PKT file. Thank you for any assistance

Hi,

If I understand the problem you can use IP address of your choice, fore exeple 10.10.10.0/24 or 11.11.11.0/24 etc..

If you dont have enouth interfaces on your router, you can use VLAN on your switch to separate ports.

Regards.
