High CPU utilization in CISCO2911

Hi,

We notice high CPU utilization over our CISCO2911 device and our tool reports high cpu alert accordingly.

During this high utilization alert we notice that the SNMP engine process is showing pretty high as can be seen in below output

show processes cpu sorted | ex 0.00
CPU utilization for five seconds: 98%/1%; one minute: 97%; five minutes: 95%
 PID Runtime(ms)     Invoked      uSecs   5Sec   1Min   5Min TTY Process
 413  2191807316   168978192      12970 93.25% 93.17% 90.87%   0 SNMP ENGINE

Kindly advise if this process of SNMP ENGINE relates to the SNMP traps which are being sent from branch router to SNMP server ?

what are the steps that could be done to fix this..

James..

Hi, i have the same problem.

Did you find root cause?

For rafafilho1's post, high CPU appears to be mostly interrupt which normally just implies enough traffic to load up the CPU.
