iam working as network administrator for one company and rightnow we have project to replace static routes over WAN links with BGP.
is there any recommendation from cisco to replace 1841 with any routers series , and how can i know maximum Throughput for 1841 to determine if my router can support the BGP routes.

How many static routes do you currently support ?
What are your intentions as far as BGP goes ?
a. how many peers will you need ?
b. how many routes do you think you will need to accept ?
Throughput is not a function of what routing protocol you run.Its more a fuction of processor, memory, system cpu, and overall interface lodad.
The 1841 is suitabale for small branch office connectivity. I'd be suprised if there is an IOS for this platform that supports BGP.

as per the data sheet...
The modular architecture on the Cisco 1841 router supports HWIC slots. The newly designed high-speed WAN interface slots significantly increase the data-throughput capability (up to 800-Mbps aggregate). Table 6 lists the High Speed WAN Interface cards supported on the Cisco 1841.
Hope this helps.
