How is Fast-Etherchannel spreading traffic between ports?

I'm monitoring the switch ports where few Netapp 2100 caches are connected. These boxes use fast-eterchannel technology.

Now I was just wondering how the traffic is spread between ports belonging to the same channel.

Is it just dumb round-robin?

If so do you think it is enought to poll SNMP out of a single port and multiply the traffic by the number of ports in the channel?

Thanks to read

Hello,

check this document, it contains a rather comprehensive explanation on how the traffic is balanced:
