Hi All
i need help to configure Multicast PIM Sparse Mode with RP Redundancy for Network Devices without Dynamic Routing Protocol (only static route) . i have following queries
1- can we configure Multicast PIM sparse mode with Dual RP and with Static IP configured on connected device (without any Dynamic Routing Protocol ( if yes then which method will work Anycast RP, Auto RP, BSR )
2- if Dual RP cannot be achieve by using Static Routing then what should be the exact method to achieve
3- is there any way we can achieve RP redundancy with static Routing instead of dynamic routing
4- why we cannot configure static Routing with dual RP/ RP backup ?
PIM Sparse Mode

L3 Link ! ! L3 Link

!!!!!!!-------------------!!!!!!!!!!-----------Multicast Receiver
L3 SW3 L3 SW4 HSRP running between SW3 and SW4
HSRP VIP is gateway for Multicast Receiver
we have defined static routing all over the place
waiting the expert opinion

Hello,
with sparse mode and exclusively static routing, you might be able to use HSRP Aware PIM. You cannot use MSDP since that requires BGP....
