Hi there,

The part ID is normally suffixed with IR, LR or SR instead of MM. If in doubt check the info held here:

https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com

cheers,

Seb.

Thanks for your reply. If the SFP is plugged into switch and enter show interface x/y command, can we see the info and know if it is single mode or multi mode? if so, what info it is we can know it is single mode? thank you

Depending on the switch (and the transceiver) you can get more information about it by using the 'show inventory' command.  There is also a 'show interface x/y transceiver details' command or the 'show interface x/y transceiver properties' command, but that command only shows something valuable if the transceiver supports DOM (Diagnostic Monitoring).

sh interface <PORT> transceiver details
OR
sh idprom interface <PORT>

Hello ,

yes in this case MM stands for Multi Mode.

You can use the tool provided by Sep to check when you know the part number of the SFP.

As suggested

show inventory

can provide all the part numbers of plugged in and recognized optics SFPs.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
