how to install VIC3-2E/M in cisco router 2901 & what precaution should have to be taken.

As explained in documentation:
Router off, insert, router on.

Turn off the router and install the VIC card and turn the power back on. as a precaution transfer the startup-config to tftp server before doing any thing of this sort.
