How to recover Password in 7600 router

Hi,

I forgot the user password & i want to recover the password.I had tried with

confreg 0x2142 but it is not working

confreg 0x0040 with this i am ble to crack password but i am not able to save startup to running config.

it is giving error % nonvolatile ---

Please anybody can suggest how to recover the password for 7600 router.

what happens when confreg 0x2142 is given from rommon and you reset the system ?

Hi,

there is no efect with 0x2124.it directly goes to username...
