Dear friends,

We've just bought Cisco 1900 series, we encounter a few problems

1- The IOS version is different from our previous router. Previous version

is 12.4 , our new router is version 15.1

2- Below is our previously working config for controller . The channel

group must be unframed

!

controller E1 0/0/1

channel-group 0 unframed

!

3- Hoewever the config below is from our newly bought 1900 series IOS ver 15.1 .

However they do not support unframed format. How can we solve this

problem.

!

controller E1 0/0/0

channel-group 0 timeslots 1

!

To support E1 unframed you need the more expensive G703 version of VWIC card, or a data-only E1 card. Regualr VIWC versions do not support unframed E1.

This is an hardware decision that Cisco has made, and has nothing to do with IOS version or configuration.

Note: even if the circuit is delivered unframed, if the other end is using 31 timeslots, it will work fine (1984 Kbps).

Ok Paola, we try to figure this out.

I have the same problem,vwic2-1mft-t1/e1 not support unframed.

the end :

controller E1 0/0/0

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31

the other end

controller E1 0/1/0

channel-group 0 unframed

the circuit is delivered unframed, when i

configure above ,it will work fine? Any help is appreciated.

Configure both sides for 31 timeslots, and it will work fine.

Paolo,Thanks for your reply.I am new to cisco routers, the vwic2-1mft-t1/e1 side

controller E1 0/0/0

line-termination 75 ohm

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31

and the G703 side

controller E1 0/1/0

line-termination 75 ohm

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31

is that right?   Thanks  a lot!

Yes.
