HSRP and tracking

Amos Kafwembe

hello all.

I have dual ISP's comming into my network on two different routers. i have configured HSRP on my gateway router to failover if any of the tracked interfaces go down. How ever, there are instances where we lose internet connectivity upstream (not that the interface has failed or gone down) and in these cases the failover doesn't work.

is it possible to track eg, pings to google, such that, should pings fail HSRP should failover?

Dear Amos,

Can you post the config removing sensitive areas and have you included tracking interfaces in your config
