Hi
I am trying to figure out how access-list work from a bgb environment using cisco 2821 flash:c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-7a.bin
Is it ingress or egress from the Ethernet or serial interface that access-list 6 is applied?
router bgp 200
no synchronization
bgp log-neighbor-changes
network 10.9.2.61 mask 255.255.255.255
network 142.65.244.0 mask 255.255.255.0
neighbor 10.20.0.160 remote-as 400
no auto-summary
Access-list 6 remark Test system deny
Access-list 6 deny 142.65.129.161
Access-list 6 permits any
Thx you

Charles,
With the config you provided, the access-list doesn't seem to be influencing the BGP at all.

Narayan,
That alarming, would you know where there is a link that can explain
Access-list and how they are applied to a bgp system. Thank you for the quick
Response.

Charles,
As Narayan indicated, the access-list is currently apply to you BGP config.
What is it you are trying to achieve. Are you trying to filter traffic, in which case you would apply the access-list inbound or outbound on a given interface or are you trying to filter routing updates, in which case the access-list would be applied either via the "neighbor distribute-list" or "route-map" command.
Hope this helps,
