I am using a Cisco IE-2000 switch. What if ring topology lose a cable?

I am using Cisco IE-2000-16C-G-N switch to manage multiple motor drives. Can i turn my commection to two line topology after a ring topology that i already establish has lost one cable connection? And if i lose a motor drive instead of a cable how will it affect my sysyem?

In the ring, if one of the segment cables is lost connectivity, the network reconverges with other paths.
