This evening i am moving our 4431 ISR from 16.6.4 Everest to 17.09.04a Cupertino.
I have pulled down the file entitled "isr4400-universalk9.17.09.04a.SPA.bin" and have it loaded on a usb stick which i can read on the router at usb0:.
I have used the "install add activate commit" commands in conjunction with the "install remove inactive" once the reload is finished in the past on several other models (mostly switches).
The install command is resident on the 4431.
The concern i have at this point is after reading the 17.904a release notes in their entirety, it does not discuss using the "install" command, but rather goes into dialogue thusly:
"
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Router(config)# boot system flash bootflash:isr4400-universalk9.03.10.00.S.153-3.S-ext.SPA.bin Router(config)# config-reg 0x2102 Router(config)# exit Router# show run | include boot boot-start-marker boot system flash bootflash:isr4400-universalk9.03.10.00.S.153-3.S-ext.SPA.bin boot-end-marker Router# copy run start Destination filename [startup-config]? Building configuration... [OK] Router# reload
Prior to reading these release notes, i would have naturally just gone in thinking that i would use the "install" command.
After reading the release notes, I am not sure.
It makes me wonder if this box is in install mode vs. bundle mode..
Am i able to proceed using the "install" command?
Thank you in advance for any input!
