input/output rates

Networking Gurus,

Are the input/output rates for a given interface saved in a buffer ?

What I am trying to achieve here is to generate a graph for a specific interface manually through excel without using MRTG/RRDTool.

Any inputs would be very much appreciated regarding this issue.

No, there is no saving. You can do something like that using EEM (search CCO), but really PRTG seems simpler to me.
