Inter-Vlan Routing Problem

Hi. I'm having a problem routing an ip traffic to my 3660 router. I have a 2948G-L3 switch and on its Fa1 it is connected to fa0/0 of 3660 router and on Fa2 of 2948G-L3 a 2900XL is connected thru fa0/1. Behind my 2900XL are the workstations. My objectives are the ff:

1. Im using the NAT on the 3660 Router, so that all the workstations can access the internet.

2. I have to create 5-10 private networks and it should route to router for translation

3. I'm done working on the vlan routing between my 2948G and 2900XL. But the problem is routing the ip traffic between 2948G and 3660.

I have tried to use the 2948G as a layer 2 switch and it is working. But after i have created a vlan (on 2900XL) for 5 private networks routing to 2948G is difficult so I made some adjustments on both switches. and it turned out causing a problem between layer 3 switch and a router.

Can you give me an idea or any guidelines on how am I going to resolve this issue? Or any alternatives just to attain my objectives. I hope you can help me on this. An immediate response is highly appreciated... Thanks in advance.

Hi,

How did you configured the router? Have you set trunk interfaces where needed? Are you suing VTP to originate the vlans from a single switch ?

Hi,

I have a setup a trunking between 2948G-L3 and 2900XL. And configuring the Router int fa0/0.1 for trunking (dot1q) on 2948G. But I'm failing to access the internet.

It works now..Thanks..

That was fast. Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!
