Hi,

Could you be more specific on where you are observing this error?

Is it on a ethernet interface or on serial interface??

Mostly these errors are associated with Physical layer issue?

If it is on ethernet interface, here are some good links which may help you.

Show interface ethernet field descriptions

hi

this my routers serial interface and i ahve connected it with DPLC (E1), i am reciviing these error on both serial interfaces in my router.

thanks

Hi,

These errors generally indicates a bad physical layer connectivity.

How is the E1 link terminated to the router?

Is there any LL modems involved. If so, check the v.35 cable between the modem and the router.

You need to check the physical layer connectivity enroute to isolate the issue.

You can also coordinate with your ISP to some loop tests done to isolate the issue.

Hi

I am using Wic E1 card for the termination of a E1 directt on my router router.

and getting error's on

S0/0:0

S0/1:1

Thanks

Check 'show controller e1 0/0' (same for e1 0/1) and see if there is more information on errors type. If you see many line code violation, chances are that you have clock issue. You can see meaning of other type of errors in the following document:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk713/tk628/technologies_tech_note09186a00800a5cdc.shtml

Also, try extended ping to remote end with verification of replies enabled and pattern for the test 0x0000 (one or two packets won't matter, send few thousand pings, ).

If you suspect clock issue and you manage the router on the other end of the link, be sure that one router is configured for 'clock source internal' and the other 'clock source line' (default). If remote router is operated by other people contact them and agree who should provide clock (usually provider).
