ip as-path access-list Question

I'm writing the following command "Ip as-path access-list 1 permit ^$", but when i do a sh run im only seeing  "Ip as-path access-list 1 permit ^" i cant understand why the "$" is not saving in the running config, any ideas?

I think that is special character that may need special key to be entered before "$"  I had link with IOS explanation ... see this 

To use these special characters as single-character patterns, remove the special meaning by preceding each character with a backslash (\). The following examples are single-character patterns matching a dollar sign, an underscore, and a plus sign, respectively.

I run lab and I see ^$ in show run

so I think it bug in your IOS
