IP host-routing

We have remote site which has two links to data center(one through MPLS and other through DSL conneciton). Wheneven MPLS link goes down ,traffic will be diverted to DSL link. However some of the data center servers will not be reachable through DSL link ,when MPLS link down. When we execute "no ip host-routing" command on Router(MPLS),issue will be fixed. I am not sure ,why this is happning.

Please help me out.

Is there anything unique about these servers that are unaccessible? Are they on a different subnet? Is a single router terminating the MPLS and DSL? Is there a routing protocol being ran over the mpls?
