Hi All.

I need some advice, I checked one of our router logs and find the following error, what does this mean?

I have copied the error in the Cisco error message decoder and dont get much back.

Error from log:

May 26 08:38:07.608 UTC: %IP_VFR-3-SYSTEM_ERROR: GigabitEthernet0/0.53: IP VFR System failure - Unable to coalesce fragment

Hello Zubair,

my guess is that the router was not able to re-assembly an IP packet and it had to discard some IP fragments

if the frequency of this message is low you are probably fine otherwise you may need to take corrective actions.
