Hi Guys,
I have this topology for IPTV stream,
Streamer GW >>>>>2960s switch>>>>Core sw6807XL>>>>2960s Switch>>>>VLC
Streamer in VLAN 181:
description ##IPTV STREAMER##
ip address 172.16.10.1 255.255.254.0
ip pim dense-mode
VLC in VLAN 102:
ip address 10.63.3.1 255.255.255.0
ip pim dense-mode
in core sw there is IP multicast routing enabled
ip multicast-routing
ip igmp snooping tcn query solicit
the streaming is working in the same vlan but not with different vlan!
The TTL in streamer is 2
Any Idea about my issue?
Thanks

Hello,
the configuration looks by the book. TTL is usually one of the things to look at, but since it is set to 2, that should be okay as well.
There are a couple of debug commands, you might want to turn debugging on, and post the output here, maybe we can spot something:
debug ip igmp
debug ip mpacket
debug ip mrouting
debug ip pim

Hey George,
Thanks for help
Those debugs command on Edge switch or Core SW?

Hello,
with pim dense, it should not be necessary, but what if you add:
ip igmp join-group 224.1.1.114
to both Vlan interfaces ?
02-12-2022 03:20 AM
I added it but not work!

Hello,
I don't know what the default ttl threshold is on the 6870 switch, but try and set it manually on the Vlan interfaces:
ip multicast ttl-threshold 15
02-12-2022 05:00 AM
DF-CORESW(config-if)#ip multicast ttl-threshold 15
This command is no longer supported.
The command is not available!

Hello,
are the clients in Vlan 102 (tthe Vlan where the multicast streaming server resides) configured on both 2960 switches (left amd right of the 6807 switch ?
02-12-2022 05:44 AM
Actually the Streamer VLAN180 and Client VLC VLAN 102 are in the same 2960 switch and 2960 connect with 6807 switch.

Hello,
--> Streamer GW >>>>>2960s switch>>>>Core sw6807XL>>>>2960s Switch>>>>VLC
I giess what I am trying to find out is if any multicast traffic is tracersing the 6807 at all. So waht I mean is: are Vlan 102 clients on both 2960 switches receiving multicast traffic ?

After deep looking the network and investigating I found the client uses one streamer from another 2960 switch and he wants to add another Linux centos streamer from and both streamers on Samel VLAN 181.
the first stream is working from VLAN 181 but the new one from VLAN 181 not working!
Can two streamers from same VLAN stream at the same time between different VLANs?
