IRB and AutoQOS

Not sure if this is the right forum...

I've got to configure the ability for two locations to use the same subnet and qos between them.

In the main office we have a 3725 that is the hub router to all of the branch offices. All those wan connections are point to point T1's.

The new location is going to have 3825. The wan connection to the main office wil lbe 2 T1's, which will need to be combined at both ends.

Assume IP Voice on both routers.

The new location will have to be able to communicate to all the other branches through the main office 3725. QOS will only be needed from the main office to the new location.

My plan was to implement IRB for the bonded T1 connection and then AutoQos on that link.

Is this possible?

in short, the answer is YES.

a few notes:

1) to create the 'bonded' T1s, i would suggest an easy, reliable solution of using a routing protocol such as EIGRP or OSPF.

this will allow for the routing protocol to handle your 'redundant/bundled' T1s as well as give you the option of load balancing on packet or destination.

2) as for the IRB, you will have to create a BVI and assign the two T1 interfaces to the bridgeGroup.

3) once you have your two T1s and bridging working, then you should apply your AutoQoS.
