ISR 4321 limited to 200+ Mbps

Hi,

I would like to confirm if the boost license upto 1.5 Gbps from the data sheet only supports onboard Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces and not Port channels? We have 400 Mbps bandwidth but ISR 4321 only limits it to 200 Mbps. We isolate the issue and it seems when we tested a pc connected to the ISP modem/router, we get 400Mbps but when it is connected to ISR 4321 router it only gets 200 Mbps. We are using encapsulation dot1q/ port-channels from the isr 4321 router.

Hello @bryan conner

Boost license applies to the overall throughput of the router and is not specifically limited to onboard Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

Best regards

Hi M02@rt37,

Thanks, I wonder what seems to be the problem with our ISR 4321. Have you ever encountered this issue with ISR 4321 routers or did you know some troubleshooting steps? Our router is already unthrottled because we already performed the boost license.

Can you share the output of the show version and show license usage commands.

Regards, LG

Verify that the hardware components of the ISR, such as CPU and memory, are not overloaded? High CPU utilization could indicate processing bottlenecks.

Do you try to update you Firmware ? Firmware updates can include performance enhancemets or bug fixes that could improve overall throughput.

Temporarly, if it is possible, remove the Po configuration and test the throughput directly on individual interfaces.

Best regards

If you're exceeding 100 Mbps, boost license should be in effect.

Understand the 1.5 Gbps is an "up to", it's not a guarantee.  Depending on your traffic mix and actual configuration, ISR 4Ks sometimes fall short even of their "performance" level license.

Check CPU utilization when you're running at 200 Mbps.
