ISR 4451 Router is booting rommon mode in loop, and no IOS image found

Hi ,

 

ISR 4451 Router is booting rommon mode in loop, and no IOS image found in flash.

 

initializing Hardware ...

Checking for PCIe device presence...done
System integrity status: 0x610
Rom image verified correctly


System Bootstrap, Version 16.2(1r), RELEASE SOFTWARE
Copyright (c) 1994-2016 by cisco Systems, Inc.


Current image running: Boot ROM0

Last reset cause: PowerOn
ISR4451-X/K9 platform with 8388608 Kbytes of main memory.

 

Please help me to resolve this issue

If the router does not have a valid IOS-XE file then you'll need to transfer the IOS-XE file into the box.

The fastest way is to use USB thumb drive and force the router to boot the IOS using the following command: 

boot usbflash0:filename.bin

Power off the Device - Power on the device and post complete logs to understand the issue.

 

or follow one of the proceedure to load IOS

 

get the IOS downloaded from cicso site. - format USB with fat32, copy the image to USB:

 

Pwoer down the device, Power on the device use break sequence CTRL+break

 

you get prompt ROMMON >

follow below guide to boot from USB:

Once booted success copy the image from USB to flash ( before copy check any image available in flash:

 

chang the boot variable to boot from flash.

 

any issue post the logs here.
