ISR4431 Throughput License w/ NIM-ES2-4=

Hello,

I'm a little foggy on the throughput license which up the throughput from 500Mbps to 1Gbps.  Currently we have a L3 link to our other site which was just upgraded to 1Gbps.  I know that to get that full gig speed I need to purchase the license since our current license is only for 500Mbps, however recently we discussed w/ our carrier about converting the link to a L2 and making it a trunk.  To avoid having to create sub interfaces on the L3 ports I was going to purchase a NIM-ES2-4 switching module and trunk it to the provider's equipment that way.  My question, if I go that route will I still need the throughput license or do those only apply to the onboard L3 interfaces.

Thanks

-Jeff

yes, you need if you have a requirement of 1GB traffic.

BTW, I think the performance license is for aggregate throughput. If so, you'll need 2 gig for a gig duplex link.
