I have a blade configurations NLB  and I  had the issue of flooding Switching. Anybody do multicast mode changes and apply Cisco recomendations

Configuring the CORE

mac address-table static vlan xxxx x port-channel interface WZ

arp [ IP address] [ mac address] arpa

The same settings apply to the Switch is connected L3 where the BLADE.

But I submit the following problem.

I have a remote site connected through a fiber ring in Layer 3. In the remote site to execute the command sh ip ip arp shows me INCOMPLETE. I had to apply the same settings to a static ARP.

I have to configure a static ARP on Switchces Layer 3 ?

How could make the mac address that is learned through CORE?

Hello,

you need those static ARP entries to bind a Multicast MAC-Address to the (virtual) Cluster Unicast IP, as a Cisco router discards such requests by default (RFC 1812 - 3.3.2).

Remember that the scope of the MAC-Addresses is the local subnet only. Thus, the static ARP entries are only needed on the layer-3 network-devices with IP-interfaces for the network, in which the NLB servers reside. From layer-3 remote sites, the traffic destined to the NLB cluster will be forwarded according to their routing table.
