Hello,

I have a Cisco 2951 router and two Cisco 2960 switches.  I see some link messages on the switches that my router doesn't seem to be too happy about.

Any ideas on what could cause that?

thanks,

Ron

You supply data without supplying any information about environment. Can you tell us what model (and perhaps what version of software) is running on the router? Can you tell us what model (and perhaps what version of software) is running on the switches?

this is what is on the switches (I think that is where the issue is)

Hello @roncro ,

post also a

Thanks for the cdp neighbor output. In the first switch I see a connection to router 2951 but in the second switch I do not see any router connection. Is that correct? Is that what you expected?

Rick

Hi Richard,

yes that is correct, the north switch is connected to the router, the south switch is connected to the north switch.

(btw:  I noticed that after changing the domain name from localdomain, to an actual/real domain name I have,  these messages are almost not occuring anymore,  only saww 2 over the past 12 hours or so)

Ron

In looking more carefully at this discussion I realize that we have a mistake in our understanding. We have been assuming that the issue is about the connection of switch to router. But looking at the OP the affected interface is GigabitEthernet1/0/3. That is NOT the connection to the router. So what is connected on that interface?
