I'm working with a small telco who indicated they have a reduced connection to long distance (MCI). As I understand it maybe the ISDN calls are not handed off digitally. Specifically, they are not recognized as digital.
When I hook up my equipment, I can't get a long distance ISDN link to come up.
The local vendor indicated there was a work around by using the following command. I attempted every variation of this command on both calling and recieving routeres without success.
Command: ISDN not-end-to-end {56|64}
When debugging,
On the home router
I get Cause i=)x82D8 Incompatible Destination.
On the router in the small town, I get Cause i=0x84C1 -Bearer capability not implemented.
How can I get this ISDN connection to work?
I also get, at the remote site:
0x800106840C Incompatible
0x8001088414
Can't Answer 0x8205
Voice 0x80010F
in a "Codeset line".

Hi Mark
Do find a solved one which is very much inline with your case.the poster was also getting the same error while debugging Bearer capability not implemented and found probs with the TELCO which they have accpeted later and rectified.

Thanks for the reply. In the example you referenced, the problem was that the "Data Channels were blocked".
Is that the same thing as when the small telco is telling me they don't have the hardware to hand off the signal digitaly to the long distance phone company?
If so, is there a method to make a data connection from an analog phone line (or analog ISDN line) to an ISDN BRI port?
Or does the "D" in ISDN mean the connection has to be digital end-to-end?
There is a cisco command ISDN not-end-to-end {56|64} command. What, is not "end to end" The description refers to the speed.
What confuses me is that the syntax indicates it answers all "voice" calls at whatever speed. To me, this indicates Cisco ISDN BRI ports can recieve incoming voice calls and aren't voice calls analog?

We are now using Voice and Data service channels on both ends and think we need to keep the circuit at 56k. Therefore, we are using the "speed 56" option in the dialer map command as well as "isdn incoming-voice data" command without success.
We can connect, but are unable to get LCP to open up. Therefor we can not ping or send data. The connection drops after 20 seconds.
We also tried ppp and hdlc across the link.
Nothing has worked yet.

When making international calls it was always advisable to use 000 and not just 00 as makes sure call stays on digital network and doesnt pass over analogue .
