Media Type Combination interfaces

Hi!

Im trying to discover which interfaces some remote routers are using on combination interfaces (This one - 4431 router)

This one I presume its using an LX SFP - not DOM capable!

#sh int g0/0/0
GigabitEthernet0/0/0 is up, line protocol is up
Full Duplex, 1000Mbps, link type is auto, media type is LX

-------------------------------------------------------------

I presume this one is using GE T SFP when it could use the Rj45 port as its a combination Interface?

sh int g0/0/2
GigabitEthernet0/0/2 is up, line protocol is up
Full Duplex, 1000Mbps, link type is auto, media type is T

------------------------------------------------------------

And this one again a combination interface using the RJ45 port

#sh int g0/1/0
GigabitEthernet0/1/0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is NIM-2GE-CU-SFP,
Full Duplex, 1000Mbps, media type is RJ45

--------------------------------------------------

Im not sure im media type T or media type RJ45 are the same thing??

thanks

Re: Media Type Combination interfaces

Hi
GLCT or GLTE is just the copper ethernet sfp that goes into a fiber capable port to allow copper cable connection, the rj45 is copper ethernet connection too

the G0/0/2 is dual can be copper or fiber depending , g0/0/1 is copper only and your g0/1/0 should be able for copper or sfp , there should be 2copper and 2 sfps available in that extra card

im not sure im media type T or media type RJ45 are the same thing??
correct
