Hi all. In our company we are considering the possibility of merging of 2 AS's we have control of. As we want to keep both AS numbers and PI independent ranges we are considering to represent one of the AS's to be virtually behind the other ie. the BGP path would look like this x x AS1 AS2.
We know that this can be done but what concerns us is if RIPE would allow something like this since we are not a LIR? Does anybody have any experience with thi kind of setup?
Thanks in advance for any help.

It is good practice, but not vital that you represent your routing in RIPE database.
What matters is that you make the needed arrangements with your upstrem ISP.
Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!

RIPE doesn't care how you arrange and use you's ASs in actual routing.

Thanks for the reply. So we can represent the AS's we have in any way we want? That's good to know and simplifies the work we have to do of representing one AS behind the other on the same links.
Any other pitfall we should be aware of if we do this?
