MPLS LDP Xconnect interface not forwarding traffic

adamspera

Level 1

Hello! I am trying to set up the following topology, where the devices on the ends do not know the three middle devices are there.

Device #1 <> NCS5001 <> NCS5001 <> NCS5001 <> Device #2

I have set up OSPF on the NCS's to enable communication between them, and enabled MPLS LDP communication through OSPF. I have also created a Xconnect p2p group that is registering as UP UP. Though the end devices cannot communicate. I have attached some output relevant to the issue, as well as a text file with abbreviated running configs.

I believe the source of the issue is that the interface Ge0/0/0/0 on edgemost NCS's that connect to the client devices, are not transmitting any traffic, yet are receiving it? Interesting issue.

Thanks for any help or thoughts!

Hi @adamspera ,

You need to run the pseudowire between the two end NCS devices, not to the middle one.

DEVICE #1 RUNNING (left)

l2vpn

 xconnect group test

  p2p p2p

   interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0

   neighbor ipv4 3.3.3.3 pw-id 100

 DEVICE #3 (right most) running

l2vpn

 xconnect group test

  p2p p2p

   interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0

   neighbor ipv4 1.1.1.1 pw-id 100
