Hi, I am planning to perform multicasting of video for my private network. I have 40 sites where 1721 router is connected through E1. my core router is 7609. The transmission could be live or recorded. what are the config. change and routing part is required on both router and is any s/w required for multicasting of video

Hi,
U don't need any software for multicasting.
U have to enable multicast routing on all routers and configure pim sparse/dense on the interface where u want to multicast.
for sparse-mode u need to configure RP for each multicast group.
if u have large number of receivers then go for dense-mode or otherwise go for sparse-mode.

of course, you'll provide the software/system required to produce the video stream to the network; but once that is in place, you can configure multicast on each router in the MCast path.
