multilink is up but link is down when e1 is down

Hi

I have 8 E1 line to connect another site.I configure multilink and get bandwidth 17 Mbs. but suddenly when 1 e1 is down then total link is down but show multilink is up. i can not ping connect site. when i pull out the faulty e1 then again connection is up and bandwidth is less then before.

i know in multilink configuration if any one e1 down then its no effect link but effect in bandwith.

but in here different event.

any expert can help me ?

When that one link goes down, does 'show interface' indicate that the link is down ?

Think down e1 is down and serial 1/0/0:0

show interface , serial interface down .

and i can not ping remote site.

The full router config from both the routers and the ip address which you are trying to ping will be useful to identify the problem.

I'm experiencing a similar issue with a 7200 chassis. It worked before the router crashed and reloaded. Was there ever any resolution to this? I realize it was some time ago....
