I am trying to determine which technology to go with so I am trying to determine if there is any significant overhead associated with MLPPP or any other benefits to a Fractional DS3 circuit.

I dont think the overhead is really an issue. I would say proably the higher the cost of a fraction ds3 would be the bigger issue.
Thx Steve

Steve, Thanks for the reply. I guess I am wondering just how much overhead there might be. There is a breakeven in cost between NxT1 and DS3 I guess I am trying to factor in any overhead that would also be factored in.

I have a troubleshooting question I have a Single T1 in a Bundle that will not go active the interface ser0/1/1:0 is Up down
I can not seem to get the Telco to believe it is his fault. I need a good document on troubleshooting and debugging the PPP Multilink. this is what it does shen I do a no shut on the interface

The EndpointDisc matches the configured PAP I am telling telco they are not sending.

Hello,
I found this for a DS3
Line rate: 44,736,000 b/s
Signals: 7 DS2 signals = 28 DS1 signals
Overhead bits:
56 bits total/frame
F-bits (framing) 28 bits/
M-bits (multiframing) 3 bits/
C-bits (stuffing) 21 bits
X-bits (message) 2 bits/
P-bits (parity) 2 bits/
Data bits between overhead bits 84
so the over head appears to be very low. So the over head on the MLPP would vary a bit depending on how many and what your multilinking together.
Again the cost would proably be the big deciding factor is there is a big difference in price but, the speeds/through puts would be very similiar if your comparing apples to apples.
Thx
