Multiple ADSL HSRP

Hi,

I have a situation where I have 4xADSL connections, each terminating on their own 1801 router. All Ethernet ports are connected to a local switch, and running HSRP.

If one of the router's ethernet port, or the router itself fails, the traffic is sent to the next router in line. (HSRP working fine)

My question is: Can you configure the ADSL lines to operate using HSRP?

They are all being provided by BT on different static ip addresses, and terminate directly to their 1801 router.

Thanks,

Pete

Hi,

If you would take an advantage of Redundancy as well as All 4 Lines utilization. You can do by Using GLBP concept.

Global load balancing, gives you single gateway like HSRP and it also creates Virtual MAC. Depand upon MAC assignment it forwards traffic and receives traffic.

Hi Dharmesh -

Thanks for your speedy response!

I have never configured GLBP. Would this work on External IP addressed Dialer interfaces?

Thanks,

Pete
