Hi, I've got a Cisco 2621 with this IOS image in flash: c2600-i-mz.120-7.bin (the only IOS in flash).
when i power up the router, the following errors occour:
open: file "n" not found
open(): Open Error = -1
loadprog: error - fileopen
boot: cannot load "flash:n"
I have to press "Ctrl" and "break" to enter ROMMON, there i can use the boot command to start the IOS.
Configuration register is set to 0x2102, all running config should be factory default.
Can anyone help me with what I have to do to boot the IOS directly when i power up my router (without entering ROMMON mode...)?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Torbjorn,
What Richard mentioned is also a good option. Please check the following link for further information:

Hello Torbjorn,
This issue could be triggered by a misconfigured boot statement. Please try the following command:
boot system flash flash:c2600-i-mz.120-7.bin
(no spece after the colon)
If the issue is persistent even after using that command, we could say that the flash is damaged, which means that the router should be replaced. However, in this particular case we need to take into consideration that the 2621 is already an end-of-life product:

just a tip with the flash part; it is just a SIMM that can be replaced at any time. You can order upgrades online from other vendors and replace it yourself too.
