Hi all,

interface fastethernet 0/0

ip nat inside

interface fastethernet 0/1

ip nat outside

ip nat inside source static 10.192.1.1 192.168.1.1

in this scenario if traffic with dest ip 192.168.1.1 hit the interface fastethernet 0/1

is router will replace the destination ip 192.168.1.1 with 10.192.1.1?

remember this on the router not on firewall so there is filtering

Regards, Rajesh

HI

It will translate u r 10.192.1.1 with 192.168.1.1 i.e the outside world will think that u r source IP is 192.168.1.1.

Thanks

Mahmood

Hi Mahmood ,

I reckon u misunderstood my question.

catch is traffic is hitting on outside interface not on inside interface.

i think ur reply will match if traffic hits the inside interface...correct me if am wrong.

Regards, Rajesh

HI

I got u know. When the traffic hits u r outside interface with destination IP the router will agian trnaslate it to u r internal IP as it maintains the Mappings for internal IP's trnaslated to external IP,s

Thanks

Mahmood
