Hi @everyone,

I have my very old Cisco 860 series.

I would like to reset my router but I couldn't able to reset it through the reset button or ROMMON mode.

All it does is go through some start-up things and it gets looped again and again with the same process which is shown in the picture.

I tried all the possible methods to reset the device but no idea what's going on!

If anyone has ideas or suggestions please drop your feedback.

Thanks

Rupesh

Most importantly, I don't see my router prompt after the boot logs.

I tried different terminals as well to break into the router prompt, but I couldn't able to do anything.

I also have an older model Cisco 860 series and I had to update the firmware because I was having problems with Telecable, my telecom operator.

Thank you very much for the information!

Hi Pascualt,

How do I update my firmware?

could you please advise?

Thanks

To upgrade the firmware you need to have access to Router - either Console or SSH (which you do not at the moment, so you need to fix ROMMON getting access - since you have the router
